Welcome to Maatu Therapy. It takes courage to make changes in our lives, especially when everyday hurdles and untold stories weigh us down. At Maatu Therapy, we’re grateful that you’ve taken this first step toward sharing your story. Together, we’ll create a safe and supportive space to understand, collaborate, and explore what you need to grow on your journey toward self-discovery and healing.
Kannada, Maatu means “talk.” Our stories are shared through maatu—the words we speak and the silences we hold. Words have the power to empower, heal, and shape the world we live in. At Maatu Therapy, we honour this connection—creating space where your voice can be heard, your story understood, and your healing journey begin
Whether your family is caught in unconscious generational patterns, you feel stuck in your relationship as a couple, or you’re navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, perfectionism, or uncertainty about which therapeutic approach to pursue, Maatu Therapy provides a safe space to explore, reflect, and discover new perspectives on your journey.
Every story matters. Through maatu—talk and connection—we create space to heal, grow, and rediscover balance within ourselves and our relationships.
Meet your therapist
I'm Shruthi a first generation Indian - Canadian, a parent to a wonderful child, and a psychotherapist. I’ve always loved listening to and telling stories. To me, therapy is much like storytelling: it’s about understanding our individual and collective experiences and finding meaning in how we heal and grow from them.
In our sessions, we’ll explore your story—whether it’s your whole family, parenting journey, or personal experiences—to make sense of your emotions, patterns, and perspectives. My approach is grounded in respect for individual differences and cultural contexts. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, seen, and understood. Together, we’ll design therapy in a way that feels authentic to you and supports what you want to explore, achieve, or become.
As a clinical supervisor, I believe in creating collaborative and reflective supervision sessions where supervisees are encouraged to explore their clinical work, insights, and challenges openly. My approach is guided by anti-oppressive principles and culturally sensitive best practices, ensuring that each session not only supports professional growth but also fosters ethical, inclusive, and socially aware therapeutic practice.
